MUMMY, DADDY & OTHER ISSUES
A reflection by Núria Frías Corrius on building a home.
The deeply authentic perspective of a young woman facing the challenges of multiculturalism and finding ones own identity. She recounts her search for belonging with a mixture of sharp-witted humor, deeply touching vulnerability and gut-wrenching honesty. She expresses her reflections alongside her self-written script through elements of physical theater and multimedia. The autobiographically inspired and transmedia project shows life through the eyes of @thereal_nuriafrias: a persona between reality and fiction.
The day I got off the plane coincided with the coldest week of the year: -14 degrees in the German capital. "Everything will be fine," I promised myself. I didn't mean the cold, though. I arrived in an unfurnished room with socialist-style windows facing the room that would be my source of vitamin D for the next 8 months. Facing north, though. Oops. The "Everything will be fine" mantra lasted for a while until... Well, "issues".
